100cc Press Kit promotional LP 1975 "100 c.c." (UKS 53110) "100 c.c." brims over with ten of the best from 10 c.c.'s two albums, "Sheet Music" (AUKS 53107) and "10 c.c. (UKS 53105) released on U.K. Records during the past two years. Now that the whole world as well as pop charts are confirming 10 c.c.'s perfection, which Jonathan King's U.K. Records, London Records, and just about every music critic have been proclaiming since "Donna" entered the British Top Five in 1972, a second (and a third) listen are much in order for their earlier material. Five tracks on "100 c.c.," "The Wall Street Shuffle," "Silly Love," "Rubber Bullets," "Donna," and "The Dean and I," rose high in the English charts, while the single, "Rubber Bullets," a top twenty American hit [sic; the song's highest chart position nationally was #45 in Cash Box], followed by "The Wall Street Shuffle," earned them a prestigious reputation in the U.S. for antimaed [sic], fun music with an underlying sophistication and mature technical prowess. 10 c.c.'s latest international smash hit, "I'm Not in Love," solidly establishes 10 c.c. for the general public as the most influential musical sound to emerge in 1975. The exciting task remains to explore the wealth of equally outstanding preceding product that begs attention. GRAHAM GOULDMAN (Bass Guitar/Vocals) Manchester-born, like all the members of 10 c.c., Graham organized the Mockingbirds with Kevin Godley, when his first composition, "For Your Love," became a hit for the Yardbirds. Subsequent hits included: "Heartful [sic] of Soul," "Bus Stop," "Look Through Any Window," "No Milk Today," and "Sausalito." After touring with the Moody Blues in the group Hot Legs [sic], Graham became involved with helping to build Strawberry Studios. The formation of 10 c.c. soon followed. ERIC STEWART (Lead Guitar/Vocals) After playing with local groups in Manchester, Eric joined Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders. While with them, their hits included "Um" [sic], "Game of Love," [and] "Stop, Look and Listen." Going solo [!] after three years with the group, he went on to write [!] the hits, "Groovy Kind of Love" and "Ashes to Ashes." With Peter Tattersall, Eric bought an old converted factory, the best equipment available, and started Manchester's Strawberry Studios. LOL CREME (Guitar/Keyboard/Vocals) Lol started playing guitar at 12 and by 14 he had formed his own band and was writing his own songs. His interests turned to animation [from above, we would think it was "antimation"], but somehow [too bad they didn't ask him] he got back to session work on guitar. Collaborating with Kevin Godley, the duo has continued ever since [ever since what??] to provide unusual cartoon humor for 10 c.c. lyrics. KEVIN GODLEY (Percussion/Vocals) His first gig was with Lol in a group called the Sabres, and later he joined the Mockingbirds with Graham. Lol and Kevin became a songwriting team at age 15 and together they wrote several musical shows in college. Also attracted to animation [there it is again], Kevin contributes to the zany visual as well as musical element of 10 c.c.'s sound. For further information, contact: |
